Members of JETAA Queensland are alumni of the JET Programme, a Japanese government initiative aimed at promoting grass-roots international exchange between Japan and the world. Our chapter is funded and backed by CLAIR (Council of Local Authorities and International Relations), a part of the Japanese government.
We promote and foster language and cultural exchange between Australia and Japan, organise social and networking events and provide a social support network for recently returned JETs and other alumni. We also provide support for the JET Programme, working with the Consulate-General of Japan and CLAIR.
Our alumni network consists of around 600,000 members across over 50 chapters in 18 countries around the world. Find a chapter near you at JETAA International!
JETAA Oceania is an informal region combining the Australian, New Zealand and Singaporean chapters. The 9 chapters of Oceania meet at an annual conference, rotated between Australia and New Zealand.
